Diwali is just a week away & like everyone else, I’m also awaiting the long weekend & celebrations with my family & friends. More than that, I enjoy & absolutely love the idea of gifting & sweets – it’s all so much fun. The little extra weight gain is left to be tackled for later but what continues to prevail in our thoughts is our outfit & makeup for the D-Day. Out of all the Indian Festivals, Diwali continues to remain my favorite festival since childhood. As I write this post, I can vividly recall how my mum, my sister & I would go shopping for clothes a week or two prior & closer to the main day, it was Dad who would take us to pick decorative items & fairy lights & stuff. Playing dress up has always been fun for me & what better than celebrating happy power packed fun days with your loved ones without any work stress or anything else in this world.

I have always been someone who likes to ace every look or style I create. I don’t usually wear traditional outfits on everyday basis. It’s only during festivals or weddings, I get to dress up in ethnic wear. There’s a different beauty that’s attached to traditional dressing. In fact, I feel all of us are so lucky when it comes to fashion as we have so many options now a days to choose from. With so many refreshing trends & changing styles, people are willing to experiment & try different looks. One such thing is what I did while putting together this Diwali Look for you guys. I wanted to keep my look simple, elegant & beautiful & with the outfit, it’s also the makeup & right accessory that adds to the completion of any look – be it western or traditional. In my last post where I created a KarwaChauth look, I shared how I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Ensemble Store at Santacruz West.

Ensemble – a multi designer store offers a variety of styles & outfits from the industry’s best fashion labels and designers. The store is huge & extremely beautiful, you could easily spend an entire day in it. Thinking of Diwali, I decided to opt for this beautiful off-white Nakul Sen outfit. The embroidery & intricate detailing too my heart away & I knew I had to get into it. What I like about the outfit is that it looks extremely royal yet is super comfortable & I feel that’s what matters the most as it being festive time, there’s a lot of running around that happens with all the celebrations which could get tiring & the last thing in such a situation you’d want is to be in an difficult outfit. Similarly, when I thought of accessorizing I was not up for wearing heavy jewelry especially big earrings as by the end of the day they really hurt.

So I decided to add an edgy twist & given the royalty & Mughal feel of the outfit, I decided to wear this beautiful side maang tikka. I always wanted to wear one since my wedding but I did not get a chance then as in Punjabi’s we usually wear a frontal maang tikka. So I thought this was the best time to wear my very own side maang tikka that I picked from a jewelry store in Lokhandwala a year ago. It’s so beautiful, I cannot take my eyes off it. Next was my makeup! It’s no news to you all who know me a little though this blog that I love Estee Lauder products! It’s my favorite skincare as well as makeup brand & when these lovely guys at Estee Lauder India sent me a Diwali Gift Box with Festive Estee Goodies, I knew I had to create a look using these sparkling babies. The picture of the box is up on my Instagram Page which has a New Pure Color Envy Sculpting Matte Lipstick in Persuasive, the New Double Wear Highlighting Cushion Stick & for that bronze glow their New Double Wear Radiant Bronze Cushion Stick. For that flawless base, I used the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in my shade which is Tawny & Voila this super stylish Diwali Look is ready! I loved this look, what do you think?
